The 2013 Distinguished Young Woman of North Carolina is Amie Sessoms, from Forest City. Through her participation in our program, Amie earned 7 separate awards, for a total of $11,500.00 in cash scholarships and the opportunity to advance to the next level of competition.
Amie's achievements include: University of South Carolina McNair Scholar • Hugh O' Brian Leadership Award • Freshman English Award • Class Vice President (9th-12th) • DAR Good Citizens, Essay Scholarship 1st in State • Ranked 3rd in Senior Class; Graduation Speaker • Be Your Best Self Award Winner- Local & State • Outstanding Junior Award • Class Sponsor (9th-12th); Homecoming Queen (12th) • Junior Marshal; AP Scholar
