Our local Distinguished Young Women of Okaloosa County program awards a minimum of 10 cash scholarships, falling into the following categories:
The amount of scholarships awarded each year depends largely on the generous tax-deductible donations made to our scholarship fund, graciously made by businesses and individuals from our communities in Okaloosa County.
In addition to those cash scholarship awards presented at the Distinguished Young Women of Okaloosa County program each year, there are currently 3 colleges who offer the following scholarships to all participating girls, who qualify based on the following requirements:
A minimum of $500.00 is added to the Distinguished Young Woman of Okaloosa County's awards, should she attend NWFSC.
The following scholarships listed below are offered to the Selcted DYW, if she applies to UWA, & has a minimum 3.0 GPA with the following ACT test scores:
21/22 ACT: $2500.00 4-yr renewable, Valued at $10.000.00.
23/24 ACT: $3500.00 4-yr renewable, Valued at $14,000.00.
25/26 ACT: $4500.00 4-yr renewable, Valued at $18,000.00.
27/28 ACT: $5500/00 4-yr renewable, Valued at $22,000.00.
The scholarships listed below are offered to ALL participating girls who qualify as follows:
Minimum 27 ACT (or SAT 1220) with a minimum 3.5 GPA: FULL TUITION - 4-yr renewable, Valued at $32,000.00.
Minimum 31 ACT (or SAT 1380) with a minimum 3.7 GPA :FULL TUITION - ROOM & BOARD - 4-yr renewable, Valued at $57,000.00.
There are also 2 other colleges who offer full-tuition scholarships to any participant who has a 3.0 & a minimum ACT of 27: & we will list those names & amount soon. One is in Virginia & one is in Minnesota.
For STATE DYW's, there is a LONG list of large colleges from every state who award full scholarships to STATE DYW's (regardless of what STATE they represent) , and this holds true as well as for the NATIONAL DYW.
