AJM Celebrates Magical Christmas in Lights

AJM will host its 1st Annual AJM Magic Christmas in Lights at Bellingrath Gardens and Home on December 4, 2008, from 5 pm -8 pm. Four of the Junior Misses who are attending the University of South Alabama will be provide holiday entertainment. They are as follows: Hannah Yeats, Idaho; Lauren Gessner, Ohio; Brynn Armostrong, New York; and Twila Tschan, Oregon. Other Junior Misses, including the Mobile County Junior Miss, Chelsea Fenton, will also perform. On this evening, AJM invites the Mobile community to come out and join AJM as we celebrate the holiday season.

Founded in 1957, AJM is the oldest and largest scholarship program for high school senior girls. The nonprofit program’s goal is to honor young women who excel and encourage them to obtain a college education and assume roles of leadership in their communities and professions. During the past 50 years, AJM has awarded cash scholarships totaling more than $90 million to girls across the nation. More than 700,000 young college-bound young women have competed in the program.
