JUNIOR MISSES TO PARTICIPATE IN DAY OF CARING THURSDAY

The AJM Class of 2007 will spend Thursday morning participating in community service activities for a Day of Caring, sponsored by the Junior League of Mobile. This is the second year of sponsorship by the Junior League, and representatives from both organizations are thrilled about the partnership. The similar missions and purposes of AJM and JLM will surely make for a special event.

The Junior Misses will be divided into groups and will participate in services activities at three area projects. One group will help build two homes with Habitat for Humanity. A second group will visit the Dearborn YMCA to talk with the children about the importance of nutrition, and the third group will travel to Citronelle to participate in United Cerebral Palsy’s Camp Smile activities. The contestants are all very excited about the opportunity to work with these three wonderful organizations and the Junior League of Mobile. After a lunch at the Junior League office, the contestants will resume preparation for the 50th Annual National Finals with rehearsals in the afternoon.

The 50 Junior Misses will compete for a share of $150,000 in college scholarships and the title of America’s Junior Miss at the 2007 National Finals June 28-30. The program will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. June 30 on WPMI-TV 15's Web site, www.nbc15online.com.
