Nora Ali AJM 2007 to Attend Dinner at White House
Nora Ali, AJM 2007, will be taking a break from her classes at Harvard this week to attend the Iftaar Dinner, hosted by President Bush. The dinner, which is held each year as a tribute to the month of Ramadan, will take place in the State Dining Room at the White House on Thursday, October 4, 2007.
Nora will also join U.S. Congressman Jo Bonner for lunch and will meet with other members of the U.S. Congress and Senate who represent her home state of Minnesota.
On Friday afternoon, Nora will speak to a group of students at Gerstell Academy about leadership and education, and share with them about AJM’s Be Your Best Self (BYBS) program. The BYBS program promotes the importance of education and self confidence for young people and encourages them to eat the right foods, stay fit, get a good education, live by moral principals, serve in the community, set goals, and work to reach those goals.
