AMERICA’S JUNIOR MISS CLASS OF 2007 TO ARRIVE IN MOBILE JUNE 18

America’s Junior Miss will welcome the 2007 Junior Misses to Mobile tomorrow. Contestants will arrive at various times throughout the day, and will participate in an Arrival Ceremony at the Mobile Regional Airport at 5:30 pm. This ceremony is open to the public, and community residents are encouraged to attend.

The 50 contestants will compete for a share of $150,000 in college scholarships and the title of America’s Junior Miss at the 50th Annual National Finals June 28-30. Major sponsors for 2007 are the City of Mobile, Mobile County, and the Mitchell Company. Category sponsors are Alabama Power, Encore Rehabilitation, Mobile Gas, Regions Bank, and Wintzell’s Oyster House. America’s Junior Miss will celebrate its 50th Annual National Finals June 28-30, 2007 in Mobile, Alabama. The program will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. June 30 on WPMI-TV 15's Web site, www.nbc15online.com. Major sponsors for 2007 are the City of Mobile, Mobile County, and the Mitchell Company. America’s Junior Miss (AJM) is the nation’s oldest and largest scholarship program for college-bound high school seniors. The program, headquartered in Mobile, Alabama, began in 1958. Since then, AJM has awarded about $90 million in college scholarships at the local, state, and national levels. Over 700,000 young women from all over the country have participated in Junior Miss programs. AJM is proud to have the assistance of more than 17,000 volunteers throughout the United States, who help to make the Junior Miss program successful at the local and state levels.
