2007 AJM Nora Ali visits New York City for Media Tour

Nora Ali, America's Junior Miss 2007, departed for New York City, Tuesday, July 17 for a week long media tour. Nora was accompanied by Cassidy Grimes, AJM Public Relations Director, and Susan Veasey, AJM Board of Directors. The Mitchell Company, an AJM Platinum Sponsor, provided a private plane and limousine for the trip.

While in New York, Nora was a VIP guest on MTV's TRL and was able to meet up and coming rapper, Common. Nora was able to wait in the green room backstage and was placed front and center during the interview portion of the show.

Tuesday evening, Nora attended the widely acclaimed broadway show "The Drowsy Chaperone" and received a special backstage tour by Joanna Bradley, a Junior Miss Has-Been from Nebraska. Joanna showed Nora how the show operates backstage and introduced her to other cast members, including John Glover, who plays Lionel Luthor on the CW’s Smallville.
On Wednesday, Nora had the opportunity to be interviewed by Harry Smith on CBS's The Early Show. A driver was sent to pick her up, she was able to eat breakfast in the green room backstage with the other guests, and she received full hair and makeup before her interview. Everyone at CBS was amazing and seemed very excited to have Nora on the show and in the studio.

Nora visited NBC's The Today Show on Thursday morning and had the opportunity to meet Ann Curry, the news anchor. Almost equally exciting for Nora as meeting Ann, Nora also got to see the special Harry Potter segment on the show.
Even though Diane Sawyer was out of town, Nora was able to watch Good Morning America in the studio as it aired live and received VIP passes to see John Mayer perform on Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series in Bryant Park.

Nora was also able to tour the NBC Studios, visit the Empire State Building, tour and visit the many burroughs of New York City, have a her caricature drawn, and pick up a few gifts for her friends and family.
