AJM Hires Choreographer for 2008

AJM is proud to introduce the Director/Choreographer for the 51st AJM National Finals. Gia Solari of California will work with returning Producer, Pam Repp, for what promises to be an amazing production!

Gia began her professional career as a dancer at age 14 and has performed and taught throughout North America and Europe. Dance credits include Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Disney, Nickelodeon, La JAZDANZ Too, and the KYA Oldies Road Show. Theatrical credits include the national tours of Evita (25th Anniversary Tour / Dance Captain, dir. Harold Prince) and The Hot Mikado (Dance Captain) as well as working regionally with companies such as American Musical Theatre of San José, Broadway By the Bay, San Francisco Musical Theatre Company, and Woodminster Summer Musicals. Favorite choreography credits include Cabaret, Children of Eden, Evita, Songs for a New World, South Pacific, Man of La Mancha and projects for Golden State Warrior Girls Dance Team, California Junior Miss, Universal Dance Association, and recording artists Townsend. Gia has been a faculty member of the Universal Dance Association, Notre Dame de Namur University, University of California, Davis, and Castro Valley Performing Arts. She worked as a casting assistant on such Broadway and national touring projects as Rent and Saturday Night Fever as well as with Berkeley Repertory Theatre and the Liberty Theatre Company. Gia is a former judge for the National High School and College Dance Team Championships as seen on ESPN. She holds a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Health and recently earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance with an emphasis in Choreography and Performance. Gia has been a part of the Junior Miss family since 1990.
