Nora Ali Visits Bangladesh

Nora will be traveling with her mother to Bangladesh during the holidays to personally deliver the funds that she and her sister have raised for the victims of Cyclone Sidr to Dhaka Community Center. Nora will be donating $1,000 that she and her sister raised at Harvard by selling henna tattoos to college students. Upon her return, Nora will travel to Mobile to participate in the GMAC Bowl festivities before returning to Harvard.

 

AJM Announces Partnership with Jazzercise

AJM is excited to announce that Jazzercise, Inc. will partner with AJM Scholarship Program for the 2008 National Finals in Mobile. Jazzercise, who's mission is to enhance the physical well being of people of all ages, will give a cash donation and will provide Jazzertogs for the 50 contestants. The organization will also choreograph the fitness portion of the AJM National Finals. Judi Sheppard Missett, the founder of Jazzercise, was a participant in Junior Miss when she was in high school, and she and her daughter have been sponsors for the San Diego Junior Miss Program for years. AJM is delighted to welcome Jazzercise to the AJM family as we work together to encourage all young women to strive for excellence and be their best selves.

Mary Catherine McAnnally Guest at Coors Classic Tournament

Mary Catherine McAnnally of Alabama sang "God Bless America" at the Coors Classic Basketball Tournament at the University of South Alabama on Saturday, December 15, 2007. Mary Catherine represented Alabama at the 50th AJM National Finals in June and will pass on her title in January at Alabama's Junior Miss Program. She is a freshman at Birmingham Southern College where she is using scholarships that she won at her local, state and national Junior Miss programs. 

 

Brynn Armstrong Speaks on Be Your Best Self Program 

Brynn Armstrong spoke to fourth graders from across Alabama at the Hoar Construction/GMAC Bowl Reading and Writing Contest on December 10, 2007, at the Mobile Civic Center. Winners of the contest were awarded savings bonds ranging from $500 to $10,000 and were invited to attend the GMAC Bowl game and events in January. Brynn spoke to the fourth graders about the Be Your Best Self Program and encouraged them to work hard in school and be proud of themselves.

AJM Participates in Dauphin Island Christmas Parade

Brynn Armstrong of New York and Kaila Mattson of Wisconsin participated in the Dauphin Island Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 2, 2007. Both young ladies were representatives at the 50th AJM National Finals in June and are students at the University of South Alabama.
