Our 2009 Vermont's Junior Miss is Celie Dagesse, from Newport. In our competition, her performance earned $600.00 in cash scholarships and, of course, the opportunity to compete at the next level of Junior Miss competition.

Celie's achievements include: National Honor Society • Miss Vermont Jr. National Teenager 2005 • Jr. Steering Commitee - Treasurer • Basketball - Second team all Metro, 1yr cpt(V) • Athletic Council member - 4yrs • Field Hockey - 1st team all District, 3yr Cpt.(V) • French- III and IV, High Honors • Scholarship pin, Letter • English Award - Freshmen and Sr. yr • Art Awards-Leonardo, High Honors (2yrs)

In addition, Celie's activities include: Field Hockey -Varsity Cpt. 10,11,12 • Basketball - Varsity Cpt. - 12 • Childrens Church teacher • 4-H teen leader and club member • Track - made states all 4 yrs. (sprinter) • Sing National Anthem for all varsity b-ball games • Face paint for community events • Creative Movments for Christ (dance and puppets) • NFHS Youth Leadership Conference • Louis and Clark Expedition - VT selected
