Our 2009 South Dakota's Junior Miss is Kara Wevik, from Beresford. In our competition, her performance earned $500.00 in cash scholarships and, of course, the opportunity to compete at the next level of Junior Miss competition.

Kara 's achievements include: National Honor Society- 2 years, Secretary • High Honor Roll- 4 yrs. • 1st place USD Math Competition Sm School Precalc • Homecoming Royalty • Student Council- 2 yrs. • Voting Delegate- FCCLA • Prom Hostess • Chosen as Farm Bureau Camp Senior Mentor • Recieved three 1st place awards-State Dance (team) • Cheerleading Spirit Award- '06-'07
