Montecito's Junior Miss

Our 2009 Montecito's Junior Miss is Rachel Love, from Santa Barbara. In our competition, her performance earned 4 separate awards, for a total of $3,500.00 in cash scholarships and, of course, the opportunity to compete at the next level of Junior Miss competition.

Rachel's achievements include: National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine • Nominaton for the NCTE writing contest • California Scholarship Federation • National Honor Society • "Santa Barbara Independent" Poetry contest winner

In addition, Rachel's activities include: Competing in Irish Dance on a championship level • Teaching Irish Dance • Water Polo- JV team captain • Junior State of America • Red Hand Organization • Writing • Tutoring/Link Crew Mentor

Summerland's Junior Miss

Our 2009 Summerland's Junior Miss is Megan Turley, from Santa Barbara. In our competition, her performance earned 4 separate awards, for a total of $3,500.00 in cash scholarships and, of course, the opportunity to compete at the next level of Junior Miss competition.

Megan's achievements include: Honors Society Member/National Merit Scholar qual. • Had artwork shown in gallery setting (with VADA) • SBHS Sailing team finished 8th in Ca. (crewed FJs) • Community Service Award (upon graduation) • Helped organize a sit-in for student voice • Legislative Representative for my class '05-'07
