Our 2009 Dekalb County's Junior Miss is Rachel Shugart, from Fort Payne. In our competition, her performance earned 4 separate awards, for a total of $4,900.00 in cash scholarships and, of course, the opportunity to compete at the next level of Junior Miss competition.

Rachel's achievements include: National Honor Society • Spanish Honor Society • Who's Who Among American High School Students • FPHS Honor Student • Mu Alpha Theta • The Times Journal Athlete of the Week • Junior Class Vice President
