Class of 2007
Miranda Baylor – Autauga County – 8-29-07 I am a freshman at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am majoring in Marketing and Management and a UAB Cheerleader. Jr. Miss has been an asset to my life, through scholarship money and interview skills.
Tiffany Dy – Chilton County – 8-24-07 I am attending Birmingham-Southern College this fall and majoring in Biology.
Eleanor Isbell – DeKalb County – 11/26/07 Pre-med student at Auburn.
Benton Sprayberry – Lee County – 11/26/07 I began my pre-pharmacy studies at Auburn University in August. I participated in sorority rush and pledged Kappa Delta. I live on campus with Elmore County’s 2007 Junior Miss Jennifer Stubbs and we have enjoyed reuniting with other 2007 Junior Miss participants. I passed my title as Lee County Junior Miss to Lilly Xu and look forward to attending the 2008 State Pageant in January.
Hillary Sawyer – Monroe County – 8-24-07 – Attending Samford University and majoring in Biology. Plans to transfer to UAB in 3 years and attend medical school to become a radiologist.
Courtney Brunson – Pike County – 9/5/07 I am a freshman at Auburn University
majoring in pre-veterinary medicine. I just pledged Kappa Delta.
Sissy Bean – Shelby County – 9/5/07 I am a freshman at the University of Tennessee, dancing with the UT Dance Team! I pledged Chi Omega Sorority.
Julie Spain – Tallapoosa County – 11-26-07 I am studying Graphic Design at Auburn University. I joined Alpha Delta Pi sorority and was recently chosen out of 500 people to be a part of Tiger Tuesdays’ REACH program. REACH is an organization that participates in community service as well as plans campus-wide community service events and makes them known throughout Auburn. I am also very proud to be the choreographer for the Tallapoosa County Junior Miss program for 2008.

Melissa Smith – Blount County – 11-26-07 I am currently a Sophomore at the University
of Alabama Tuscaloosa Capstone School of Nursing with an overall GPA of 3.725. I am
proud to say that I did make the Spring 2007 Dean’s List. I am a member of Pi Beta
Sorority and recently was elected to serve as an Executive Board member, Vice
President, Event Planning. The 2007 Tuscaloosa Junior Miss (Mallory Meissner) is my
little sister!! My Freshman Year I served on Freshman Forum, Bama Bound UA Week
of Welcome, and Student Government Association.
Emma Hutchinson – Choctaw County – 11-26-07 Second year at the University of Alabama majoring in Finance w/a concentration in Real Estate. A member of the Avasti 2007 team and the “A” team.
Rebecca Whitlow – Colbert County – 8-27-07 I am entering my second year at Auburn in the College of Architecture. I was accepted last year in the Foundation Unit, which is early acceptance into Architecture. I love it! I started our by making a 4.0! I got into Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma honoraries. I also pledged Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Megan Butler – Houston County and Alabama’s Junior Miss – 11/26/07 Currently a sophomore at Furman University in Greenville, SC. Phi Eta Sigma member (academic honor society), Tri-Delta Sorority member, Sigma Tau Delta (English honor society) member, Student Alumni Council member (2 years), seeking double major in English and pre-medical studies, and Resident Assistant for Tri-Delta dorm hall.
Aly Hardin – Jackson County – 11/26/07 I am a freshman at Auburn University majoring in biomedical sciences. I recently pledged Alpha Chi Omega sorority and was chosen to be a Tiger Splasher (hostess for the Auburn University Swim and Dive Teams).
Chrissy Meeks – Pike County – 11/26/07 Chrissy is a sophomore at Auburn University majoring in Bio-Medical Sciences.
Liz Cochran – Shelby County – 9/5/07 I am a sophomore at Birmingham Southern
College. I was 2nd runner up at the Miss Alabama 2007, swimsuit & talent preliminary
winner. I am a Birmingham Southern Ambassador, Birmingham Southern Peer Advisor,
and member of Kappa Delta Sorority.
Hannah Lee Dickinson – Talladega County – 11-26-07 I am currently a sophomore at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL, where I am majoring in Chemistry/Pre-Pharmacy. I am a member of the Lady Hawks Tennis Team, Chi Omega, and Phi Eta Sigma. I also serve as a Sophomore class SGA Senator.
Stephanie Rector – Walker County – 11/26/07 Sophomore at Auburn University. Member of Alpha Gamma Delta Social Sorority and a Tigerette.

Jaye Herrod – Autuaga County – 11-26-07 Jaye is currently a junior music education major at the University of Mobile. There she is involved with campus ministries as the coordinator for the fall and spring mission trips. She is also the reigning Miss University of Mobile, and she competed in Miss Alabama pageant 2007, where she was a non-fnalist talent winner and the Miss America Academic Award Winner.
Emily Morgan – Crenshaw County – 9/5/07 A junior at the University of Alabama
maintaining a 4.2 GPA in Elementary Education. Member of Phi Mu Social Sorority and
Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Sororities.
Melinda Williams – DeKalb County – 11/26/07 Transferred this fall to the University of
Alabama in Tuscaloosa with a major in Public Relations. Recipient of Leroy T. Carlson
Telephone Pioneer Scholarship for 2007 (only 2 scholarships given nationalwide). On
President’s List at Northeast Alabama Community College for 2006 – 2007 school year
with a 4.0 GPS for both semesters.
Jessie McKinley – Escambia County – 8-29-07 I am a junior at the University of Alabama. My major is interior design, and I am a member of Phi Mu Sorority. I am now an Escambia County Junior Miss Board Member.

Emily Ann Quattlebaum – Dale County – 11/26/07 I am graduating in Public Relations this May! I have loved my four years at Auburn University! I will also be getting married this May! We will reside in Mobile.
Ashley Bearden – DeKalb County – 11/26/07 I am currently a senior public relations/journalism major at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. I will graduate in May 2008, and I plan to pursue a career in entertainment/fashion PR in Nashville or NYC.

Colene Burns – Blount County – 11-26-07 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of North Alabama (BBA in Finance & Economics). Pursuing an MBA in International Business from UNA. I was 1st Alternate to Miss Alabama 2007. Miss Covered Bridge 2008, Miss UNA 2007, Miss Tennessee Valley 2006, Mis Center Point 2005 (Miss Alabama Preliminary Pagenants). Dean’s List 2003 – present, UNA Promising Alumni 2007, UNA 2007 Undergraduate Service Award, and Founder of Community Youth League, a youth volunteerism education program. Currently employed as an On Call Branch Office Assistant for Edward Jones Investments.
Grace Landers – Colbert County – 9-5-07 I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Alabama in May, 2007. Upon graduation, I was awarded the Chairman’s Leadership Award from the Department of Biomedical Sciences. In June 2007, I attended Officers’ Indoctrination School for the United States Navy in Newport, RI. I was selected as one of three Division Officers for the class. I am currently a Commissioned Officer with the rank of Ensign and a medical student at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD.
Jamie Peacock – Escambia County – 11/26/07 I am currently a Senior at the University of Alabama. I will graduate in May with an advertising major and a double minor in computer and graphic design. I have been offered a job as a buyer for Wal-Mart in Bentonville, AK. However, I am still checking my options. I am also a student worker for the Athletic Dept. at U.A. and serve as an athletic hostess for the Ivory Club on game day.
Elizabeth Crockett – Houston County and Alabama’s Junior Miss – 11-26-07 I graduated summa cum laude from Furman University in June of 2007 with a B.A. in Economics. While at Furman, I was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society, Senior Order, the Student Alumni Council, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, and Delta Delta Delta sorority. I received a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to study in the United Kingdom for the 2007-2008 academic year and will pursue a master’s degree in Public Policy at the University of Bristol in Bristol, England.
Anna Smith – Tuscaloosa County – 8-24-07 I have recently graduated from the University of Alabama and am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Accounting. I have accepted a full-time position with Ernst Young in Birmingham and will be beginning work with them in September 2008.

Carrie Colvin – Jefferson County, Alabama’s, and America’s Junior Miss – 11-26-07 I am still living in Los Angeles, CA, and working for Mark Steines at Entertainment tonight.
Kyla (White) Blackwood – Lawrence County – 11/26/07 Graduated from The University of North Alabama in 2006 with a degree in Social Work. Married in June 2006 to Mr. Houston Blackwood & we live in Hartselle, AL. I am currently the Judges Chairman for Lawrence County Junior Miss.

Amanda (McWilliams) Parker – Colbert County – 9/5/07 I recently married Matthew Parker of Florence, AL. I am an elementary gifted teacher for Colbert County Schools. Matt is an accountant for a local corporation. We reside in Tuscumbia, AL.
Sally Spaulding – Jefferson County – 9/5/07 I am working as the public affairs officer for the White River National Forest in beautiful Colorado.

Janell Johnson – Shelby County – 11/26/07 Janell served on the board for Shelby County’s Junior Miss as secretary and choreographer from 2005 – 2007. She now resides in Nashville, TN, where she works for ADP Dealer Services.
Jessica Gissendanner – Washington County – 8-28-07 I reside in Monroeville, AL where I have been employed at the Monroe County Hospital for the past three years. I am a member of the Belle Lettres Service Organization that sponsors the Local Junior Miss program. This past year I was fortunate to help with the program by choreographing the self-expression routine.

Jana (George) Ealum – Bibb County – 11/26/07 June 20, 2006 we welcomed our first child. Joseph Avery Ealum. We currently reside in Georgiana, Al where I am a public accountant for Ruben & Odom P.C. in Andalusia.
Summer (Newman) Ernest – Talladega County – 8-24-07 My husband, Lance, and I are expecting our first child in February! I am teaching science at Nichols-Lawson Middle School in Sylacauga.

Ashley Halfman – Jefferson County – 11-26-07 After 5 years practicing law in Washington, DC, I’ve recently moved back to the South. I am currently practicing with the firm of Hartman, Simon, Spielman & Wood, LLC in Atlanta, GA.

Nikki (Campbell) Burg – Autauga County – 11/26/07 My husband, Trey, and I live in Enterprise, AL and have one daughter, Mary Cam, 5 yrs. and one son, Stafford 2 yrs. Trey is a Nurse Anesthetist in Ozark, AL and I am a happy homemaker, former ER nurse. I have served on the Coffee County JR Miss Board for the last 2 years and am looking forward to many more.

Kay (Bryson) English – Dallas County – 11-26-07 2006 ALSA Elementary Teacher of the Year. September 2007, Alfa Teacher of the Month. Currently working on a Master’s Degree in School Counseling at Troy Montgomery. This is my 22nd year as a 4th grade teacher at Monroe Academy.
Carol (Cochran) Hornsby – Tallapoosa County – 11/26/07 Larry and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary April 17, 2007. Our son, Drew, is a freshman at UAB, a nursing major with intentions of becoming a Nurse Anesthetist like his dad. Drew earned several merit scholarships. I am currently enjoying my 10th year of home schooling! Laura is a senior this year, and is St. Clair County’s Junior Miss for 2008! We are looking forward to January in Montgomery. Laura is a classical (and church) pianist and is now learning to play the concert harp! What a joy it is for music to fill our home. When Laura is finished with her Junior Miss duties, I plan to continue working with St. Clair County’s local program.
