Sally Brinton |
SALLY PETERSON BRINTON received her Masters Degree in Piano Performance from The Juilliard School of Music in New York City where she studied piano with renowned pianist Adele Marcus. She has won First Prize in four national piano competitions and has performed as a concert pianist on five continents. She made her New York Debut at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in NYC. In 2006, Sally performed in recital with her two daughters, Lindsey Brinton (America’s JM 2008) and Stephanie Brinton Parker (Utah’s JM 2006) at Carnegie Recital Hall in NYC. Sally received her undergraduate degree from the University of Utah where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. She also studied dance for ten years. Sally enjoys spending time with her family which includes her husband, Greg, seven children, three daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, and 15 grandchildren. She enjoys travel, interior design, and motivational speaking as well as water skiing and hiking. She first became involved with Junior Miss as a senior in high school. Since then, all three of her daughters have participated in the Junior Miss program. |

MAUREEN SULLIVAN COLLINS won the title of Americas Junior Miss in 1960 and attended Southern Connecticut State University, where she earned a BS degree in Special Education. Maureen married George J. Collins and traveled to Texas with her husband as he fulfilled his military obligations, finally settling in Howard County and then the Annapolis area of Maryland. In time, Maureen and George had 3 sons and 10 grandchildren. Maureen has been involved in many philanthropic endeavors including preschool and elementary school boards, Maryland's Junior Miss, Easter Seals, the Baltimore Opera, Miami Opera, and the Miami Art Museum Council. Maureen also founded, developed, and presided over the Columbia Senior Citizens Stroke Club, a transition group, which continues today. In 1997, with her husband George, she helped develop the Chessie Racing Program, as they raced their boat in the Whitbread Round the World Race. In addition to the race itself, they enabled a program of computerized lesson plans allowing kids from all around the world to follow the race on their school or home computers. These lessons included navigation, math skills, geography, local customs, science and weather. Maureen's hobbies include photography, boating, skiing, gardening, and golf. She resides with her husband George, former CEO of TRowe Price, in Florida and Connecticut. |

DUFFTIN A. GARCIA, born and raised in New York City, graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and earned a B.S. in Computer Science at Lehman College. He began his professional dance training at eight years of age on a scholarship to The Elliot Feld Ballet. In 1988 he joined National Dance Institute and has been a part of every NDI Event of the Year since then. As an NDI Alum, he performed for The 25th Anniversary of the Kennedy Center, and along with Gregory Hines on NBC's "Name Your Adventure." He was Jacques d'Amboise's Associate Director for NDI's first International Residency Program in Israel and Palestine in 1997, Assistant Director for NDI's 1999 Mt. Kisco/Bedford Residency, and Artistic Director of the Mott Haven Residency in 2000. During NDI's 2004 Cultural Exchange in China, he also taught alongside Jacques d'Amboise. For the past four years he has been Artistic Director of the TEDI/NDI Trenton Program. Dufftin has received a two-year Van Lier Scholarship to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center and with Awakening Dance Theatre Company represented the United States at the Aberdeen International Youth Festival in Scotland. He has worked with Reuben Edwards' Underground Dance Project and Clyde D. Bailey Contemporary Dance Company and dances with Freestyle recording artist Cynthia. He is a member of NDI's Alumni Association and Co-Artistic Director of the annual NDI Dance-A-Thon. |

WILL NORTH is a talented and accomplished singer, actor and dancer. He began training in the field of performing arts at Jacksonville University receiving a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. Will continued his pursuit of training and further honed his skills at the University of Alabama where he earned a M.F.A. in Acting. His TV and film credits include ABC’s All My Children, CBS’s Guiding Light, ABC’s Six Degrees, CBS’s As the World Turns, Co-star in Alice’s Misadventures in Wonderland, Co-star in The Boneyard, and lead role in Master Star Wars. Will has appeared in numerous commercials, industrials and voice-overs. Getting back to his southern roots, he recently released his first country album entitled American Southern Boy. Will is a native of Savannah, Georgia and currently resides in Los Angeles, California. |

TINA SAVAS, Author & Speaker, works with organizations that want to create awareness of women’s issues, encourage entrepreneurship and shatter the glass ceiling. She is among the first wave of women entrepreneurs in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1983, she founded the Birmingham Business Journal newspaper, followed by Alabama Health News, Alabama Construction News, and Birmingham Weekly. In March of 2005, Savas began writing a book, Women of True Grit, about women who set firsts in their fields. With her co-author, Edie Hand, the book was launched at the Women in Military Service Museum in Washington, D.C. It has garnered top national and international reviews. Savas continues her entrepreneurial spirit through professional speaking, consulting, mentoring, real estate investment and other business ventures. Her passion for business has recently extended to volunteer and community work for those ages 50 and older. |
