AJM Alumnae Council

Mary Fran (America’s Junior Miss 1961) founded the America’s Junior Miss Council in 1995. The Council began as the official Junior Miss Alumnae organization – a sisterhood of women who have participated in Junior Miss at any level who wanted to further the goals of the program and expand the opportunities for every young woman to participate. It is another wonderful way to stay connected with Junior Miss, develop a network of Junior Miss contacts and give back to the organization that has touched each of our lives. The members have provided nearly $100,000 for scholarships at the National Finals. The Alumnae Council is run by a dedicated Board of Directors.

The AJM Alumnae Council proudly sponsors two awards at the National Finals.  Above, the three 2007 “Be Your Best Self” essay awards are presented to Karin Tsai, PA, Mary Catherine McAnnally, AL and Paige Ledger, IA, by Council Board members, Linda Delbridge (AJM '73),  Leigh Knosher (IN '81) and Erica Seredni (VA '05).

The second and most coveted award is the “Spirit of Junior Miss" award, voted on by the 50 state Junior Misses.  Here, Mary Catherine McAnnally, AL receives her award from Dee Ann Allen (ND '69), President of the Council.
